Being vegetarian, coeliac and heading towards the wrong end of 40 means I’m highly likely to be falling short on a whole host of nutrients. Add to that my recent move to a life of sobriety, a time when my body is in recovery and healing, then I really can do with every little boost I can get.
So, I was pretty excited when I stumbled across this wonderful drink powder from Terra Nova. Life Drink is a blend of vegetable proteins, microalgae, freeze dried greens, Omegas 3,6 and 9, probiotics and digestive enzymes. Whilst it is referred to as a drink, it is actually a powder which you then blend with either water or a juice of your choice.
Each morning, after breakfast, I whisk a scoopful up with a small amount orange juice, sit down and savour every delicious mouthful.
Each 227g pot contains 19 servings, which when priced at £25 per pot works out at just over £1.30 per drink. I think that’s pretty good when most juice cafés are now charging £5 upwards. If you can’t afford to enjoy this drink every day then certainly make a note of it for when you need a post illness pick-me-up.
I am 47 and celiac. I tried to be vegetarian for a while, but it was too hard with teenage kids. I do try to eat less meat and buy from a local, small farmer.
Thanks for a new idea! I could is a boost.

I’m 47 too – we seem to have so much in common! Meals can be interesting here too; sometimes I end up cooking 3 different things. Buying local, grass fed meat is definitely the way forward.
